This day has been greatly anticipated by so many people… some for the partying & drinking reasons, others for the clubbing reasons. Although both reasons seem fun, I’ve anticipated this day as a mark for your entrance to the adult world. So much growth has happened for you in the last 12 months. I’m not sure if you see it, but you’ve become more and more of an amazing woman that loves others, care for others and is SO generous to others. You’ve also grown in your faith in God. I feel like today marks the beginning of another chapter in your life where you will journey through life’s good and bad as an adult rather than a teen. That’s huge. I’m SO SO proud of you sister. Proud of all the accomplishments you’ve acheived in keeping your grades, in making the effort to be a youth worker, in resolving conflicts with your friends in a better way than I can, in dance, in opening your heart to love a boy…etc. I pray for you (did you know that?)… that you’ll continue to grow and mature as you have. That you’ll be blessed with everything you need because our God provides. I pray for many amazing years ahead for you as you discover new things about yourself and about the world around you. I couldn’t have asked for a better sister that I can call my best friend. I absolutely love all the times we get to spend together. Forgive me when I become too overprotective… It’ll be a learning process to let you grow as an adult. In my heart, you’ll always be my lil sister and I’ll ALWAYS be here for you, we’re always family – and we’ll always have each other to lean on through life. Enjoy your birthday this week. Be safe. Be smart about your decisions. Be able to have tons of fun. I want the best and nothing less for you. I love you, na. Happy birthday. love, Jeh.

The next day, we…

headed out to the strip

Our friends Jean & Austin who love to eat, recommended that we MUST visit this place in Venetian for some beef noodle soup.

I’m ALWAYS down for some good beef noodle soup… even if it’s $13 a bowl

mike enjoyed his roasted pork and duck

due to being only 5 days post surgery, mike didn’t want me to lug my big camera on this trip (energy conservation), so I only had my small camera to take pictures of fun umbrellas at the palazzo. oh how I missed my big camera.

we found a person that looked like she knew what she was doing with her camera and asked her to take a picture for us

headed over to The Mirage

i love orchids

walked outside for a little bit… then I got tired. The whole no thyroid thing isn’t as fun as I thought.

headed back to the venetian… where we saw this and i wanted mike to take a picture with it… he looks a lil scared. i think he isn’t sure if they were real. haha

watched the laker game in our room. i love our king sized bed and knitting in it.

the pool looked quite lovely from our room… we’ll have to come back for it next time

for dinner, we went to Just Eat Food. it was rated #1 on tripadvisor.com

Our crab cakes were SO GOOD

Mike’s dish: Special Pork Chop… it really was special… and yummy.

Glo’s dish: Meat Loaf

After digesting for a while, I was craving dessert, so we went down to hunt for something good. this did it for me
a day filled with eating yummy food. that’s what vegas is all about.

I’ve always been the more spontaneous traveler between mike & I. I love the idea of picking up and going somewhere without having to plan too much… figure it out when we get there and explore as we go. Mike is much more a planner to make sure we hit all the cool places and have a back up plan in case plan A doesn’t go through. We’ve both learned to compromise since we’ll be spending the rest of our lives together… today, Mike took a big step towards my direction and I love him for it.
- Woke up from a tough night of coughing pretty hard every couple hours
- Found mike playing Madden on the PS2 in the bedroom
- Got ready for the day
- Headed out to Pasadena (lunch with dr. tan)
- Had a great lunch at Pataya with Dr. Tan.
- Met with Glo’s endocrinologist to find that she is recovering well. We got clearance from the doc to take a short trip.
- Went to starbucks to book our room at South Point Casino

- Headed out to VEGAS!
- Arrived 3.5 hours later to a big new hotel that is off the strip for $35/night

- Room is big, clean and very nice
- Found a local starbucks to use their internet for free instead of paying $13/24hrs
- Mapped out our next day’s activities and more importantly, where we’re going to eat
- Dropped by Albertsons across the street to stock up on water and snacks for the night
- What a wonderful and adventurous day with my spontaneous husband.

I don’t think I can be on bed rest… it would drive me crazy. The wound hurts periodically throughout the day but other then that… it’s been ok so far. Mike & I took a walk to the park to check out the caranival going on this weekend.

My favorite shot so far this year:

Today we…
- had lunch at Marie Calendar’s with na. Glo had the all you can eat salad bar… she’s well on her way back to being normal
- while watchin big bang theory, mike said ‘it’s true that physicists think they are the smartest ‘cos all other science derives from physics-hello!’
- took a road trip to fry’s, came home and watched Taken. we enjoyed it.
- Went to check out the carnival at the park
